Crosswinds Shares Fun Morning Show, Bed Connect for Kids

In what might have been a poor decision, Carolina Christian Radio invites morning show “competition” into the studio for Church of the Week. Ok, so maybe they aren’t really the competition, but “Scott and Roni in the Morning” is a new delightful show from the folks at Crosswinds Church. Listen to the interview with Scott Hennis and Roni Bundy as they share about their show, Crosswinds’ flexible COVID services, and Bed Connect:

What's the show about?

“Scott and Roni in the Morning” emerged from recorded church services as the COVID-19 pandemic set in last year. Scott and Roni do the announcements and decided to turn their fun gimmicks into a Wednesday morning show. In their weekly program found on Crosswinds’ Facebook page and YouTube channel, they discuss things like theology and core values.

How does Crosswinds conduct services during COVID?

Just like churches all over the Wilmington area, Crosswinds has adapted its services due to the pandemic. They still offer 3 services on Sunday mornings: 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am. However, the 8:30am service is conducted in a separate space with its own entrance, and requires mask usage. For the other two service times, masks are encouraged and there are also outdoor attendance options. For those who can’t attend in person, online viewing options are also available. Certainly their desire is to respect all worship attendees by offering alternatives that would fit their comfort level

What is Bed Connect?

In addition to adaptive services and the morning show, Crosswinds also ministers to kids in the community in a special way. Bed Connect is a ministry that provides beds for children who need them. They work with DSS and local schools to deliver entire bed sets to children who don’t have one. These bed sets include everything they would need. For example, each recipient gets a box spring, bed frame, mattress, sheets, pillow, and comforter.
