Like other area schools, Myrtle Grove Christian School has successfully shifted to online learning. However, they have been looking for different ways to still be the hands and feet of Jesus in their community. Dr. Dirk Mroczek and Principal Emily Whitfield join us to share their solution.
Myrtle Grove Christian School, in partnership with Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church, is holding a food drive for Nourish NC. Those who wish to give can drive by and drop off donations outside the school’s front entrance at 806 Piner Road in the Monkey Junction area of Wilmington. Here are the most needed items they are collecting:
- Jelly (no glass jars)
- Pasta sauce (no glass jars)
- Canned chicken
- Hearty soups
- Regular sized boxes of cereal
- Lysol and hand sanitizer
Items can be donated on weekdays from 9am to 3pm through Friday May 1. Each evening, the bins will be taken inside, and all donations will be taken to Nourish NC after May 1. You can find out more about their upcoming summer camp in addition to the food drive on their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Mroczek and Whitfield are happy to report that their students are doing well with online assignments. Teachers are conducting live lessons, taking prayer requests, as well as praying together with students. Although the building is silent, learning continues.
